seller list to the number 1 position. The book, called Candara\'s Gift, is the first
of the Kingdom of Gems Trilogy, a fantasy adventure for children up to adults.

the Amazon.co.uk Best Seller List following it\'s launch yesterday. Within a few
hours it was outselling \'Harry Potter\', Dan Brown, and even \'Pele: The
Autobiography\' during the World Cup. It hovered at number 2 for a few hours before
rising above the \'Dangerous Book For Boys.\'

This new fantasy adventure is the first book of a trilogy called The Kingdom of Gems
and is gripping the imagination of children from 9 upwards. As with Harry Potter,
adults are enjoying it too. It is illustrated with original and exquisite drawings
and maps as well as a beautiful oil painting of the magical kingdom. All these are
also produced by the author, who did everything himself except the printing.

The dramatic meteoric rise of Candara\'s Gift up the Best Seller List has the
hallmark of a book that will soon be enjoyed on a world-wide scale with the further
books in the trilogy being looked forward to with eager anticipation. The second
book, \'The Silver Well\' is expected to be released later this year, with the third,
\'The Glass Prison\' in 2007.

Harry Potter and the Narnia stories have been translated successfully into films,
